making progress

Little persons are materializing from the piles of fabric. This is good.

pink pick me up

I was about to put the kettle on for some mid morning tea when I spotted a pink tree outside the window. I sent the girls out for the flowers. Barefoot and happy they returned to find pink strawberry smoothies. If I hadn't noticed the tree we would have had that cup of tea. No smoothy, no run in the grass. Sometimes you just gotta look outside the routine and go with it.

sewing, sewing, sewing.....

Not being a mass market kind of gal I am finding it difficult to enjoy making quantities of goods for the upcoming strawberry festival. I am trying my best to have everything still be one of a kind, unique and interesting. Two weeks left.

berry crazy

Whatever possessed me to agree to be a craft vendor at an upcoming strawberry festival? Oh, because when I said yes we were buried under 5 ft of snow and the idea of a strawberry festival sounded great. Now I find myself with 2 weeks left to sew my brains out to have something to sell. I will blog my progress....or lack of.

A happy day

Today the girls and I went to Kinokuniya Bookstore. We are fortunate to have this treasure trove of japanese goodness. It was time to renew my mother's day gift, a year subscription for the sewing magazine  Cotton Time. We then popped over to our favorite restaurant and had this very tasty lunch. As you can see we brought along our tiny pocket dolls Miss Happiness and Little Peach because if we didn't they would be very cross with us as they also love all things japanese. :)

The Red Shoes

Recently I took stock of my closet and realized that the last few pairs of shoes I've acquired are red. Not just red but red & Girlie. What's going on here? Not so long ago my closet was teeming with thick, tough, black boots.
When and how did this transition occur? Then this thought hit me, "Is this my mid life crisis? Am I that bald guy driving around in the shiny red convertible?"   Eek!
Oh well, I'm off to see if those cute red clogs over at Hanna Anderson are on sale yet. :)

another green, growing thing...

I am finishing up my first pair of hand knit socks. They are great, I have never had a sock actually fit the contours of my foot. Too bad they take a bit of time to make, I want more.

New Spring Seed

Welcome to the Children of Eve blog. Spring is my favorite season. Every year I am amazed by the magic of green and growing things emerging from the sleepy earth. I love it. This year it is with the hope and expectation of  planting a new seed, that I am planting this blog. I look forward to seeing what will take shape in this little space.
